A 73 year old man who in the 1960s worked in a factory which manufactured asbestos insulation boards accepted provisional damages of £55,000.00 for pleural thickening. Settlement was on the basis that he would be able to make a further claim for damages if his pleural thickening progressed or if he developed asbestosis or an asbestos based malignancy.September 2008.

A 59 year old man accepted provisional damages of £25,000.00 for mild pleural thickening which had developed as a result of handling asbestos materials which were on sale to the public in a DIY shop where he had worked in the 1970s.

A 79 year old former telephone installation engineer accepted provisional damages of £10,000.00 for mild asbestosis caused as a result of exposure to asbestos when removing and replacing asbestos cabling for telephone installations. July 2008.

The widow of a former factory labourer accepted gross damages of £251,000.00 after her husband died at the age of 58 from mesothelioma as a result of being exposed to asbestos in the 1970s when removing old asbestos lagging from pipework within the factory.June 2008

A retired engineer accepted provisional damages of £16,000.00 for asbestosis which developed as a result of being exposed to asbestos whilst working in the boiler rooms of ships when he served in the Merchant Navy in the 1950s and 1960s. June 2008.
